Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Beta Breaks Records as Biggest in Franchise History
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has shattered multiple franchise records, with its recent beta becoming the largest in Call of Duty history. This could signal that the upcoming launch of Black Ops 6 might set new benchmarks for the series.
The open beta, held from September 6 to September 9, gave players early access to the game’s multiplayer a month before its official release. During the beta, players had access to a variety of weapons, eight multiplayer maps, and modes like Mosh Pit and Face Off. The beta capped the player level at 30, with testers unlocking exclusive rewards such as a weapon blueprint and emblem, which will be available when the game launches on October 25. Based on player feedback from the early access beta, Treyarch also made several adjustments, including nerfing the Jackal PDW SMG. The free beta attracted both new players and long-time Call of Duty fans, as Treyarch shared impressive stats after it ended.
According to Activision’s official Call of Duty Twitter account, the Black Ops 6 beta broke several records. It had the highest total number of players, the most hours played, and the highest playtime per player of any Call of Duty beta. Additionally, it set a new record for the most matches played during a beta period.
Record-Breaking Black Ops 6 Beta Highlights:
- Highest total player count for any Call of Duty beta.
- Most hours and playtime per player in beta history.
- Record-breaking number of matches played.
Although Treyarch didn’t provide exact figures for each record, they expressed excitement for what’s to come with the full release of Black Ops 6. When the game launches, players will have access to 16 multiplayer maps, numerous modes, a wide array of weapons and gear, a detailed campaign, and the iconic Zombies mode. Furthermore, the game will receive post-launch support throughout the year with multiple seasonal updates.
With such a promising start, Black Ops 6 is poised to make a lasting impact on the Call of Duty franchise.
