There is confusion about whether Modern Warfare 3 will be released on PS4 and Xbox One

According to the information provided by TheGamingRevolution on his Twitter page, the official page of the game Modern Warfare III on the Xbox platform only mentions Xbox Series X/S as the planned consoles for this game.

However, TheGamingRevolution also points out that the official PlayStation account on YouTube has published a Modern Warfare 3 trailer with the title "Games for PS5 and PS4." The video also includes hashtags #ps5, #ps5games, #ps4, and #ps4games.

There are possibly three main reasons for this misunderstanding. The PlayStation channel on YouTube always adds phrases like "Games for PS5" or "Games for PS5 and PS4" to the titles of all its trailers, so it's possible that the employee responsible for naming the videos made a mistake by including PS4, even if the game won't be released on that platform.

Another possible scenario is that the game will indeed be available for previous-generation consoles, and in this case, there could be an error on the Xbox page.

A third possible reason could be as follows: both sources could be accurate, and the game might be released on PS4 but not planned for Xbox One.

Most likely, the situation will become clear on August 17 when Activision intends to conduct the "global unveiling" of the Modern Warfare 3 game.
