VALORANT Coming to China in 2023
VALORANT, from publisher Riot Games, will officially launch in China next year. China's national newspaper publishing house has published a list of 44 games that have been approved for release in 2023. Now the word is passed to the organizers, who must take the next step towards the Chinese market. Probably, we should expect the appearance of an official league, which has not been announced before.
VALORANT was released in the spring of 2020. However, in a little over two and a half years, the game has gained immense popularity in the world, especially in North America. Recently, the developers announced global changes to their esports ecosystem, adding three partner leagues and a huge number of TIER-2 level regional series.
Currently, Riot Games hosts dozens of major tournaments in the discipline, where Chinese teams have also recently appeared. In particular, the EDward Gaming team took part in VALORANT Champions 2022, where they made their way after winning the VALORANT Champions Tour 2022: East Asia Last Chance Qualifier.
However, not a single Chinese organization was included in the list of partners, but the teams will have the opportunity to prove their worth through regional leagues. Now that the game has been officially launched in the country, we can expect Chinese esports players to skyrocket and their representation to explode, as seen in League of Legends.
