FENNEL Reveal Lineup at VCT Japan 2023
Japanese esports organization FENNEL has announced the VALORANT roster for next season. The foundation includes five Japanese players of different calibers, and the building of intra-team synergy will be led by the former coach of FunPlus Phoenix and Team Heretics, and before that, coach and CSGO player Johnta.
JoXJo became the captain of the FENNEL roster. The 25-year-old is the most experienced of the five and has already made a name for himself on the local scene. Previously, Cho Byung-yeon played for the second team of the Northeption region with which he took the TOP-10 at VCT 2022: Stage 2 Masters - Copenhagen.
The second experienced valve of FENNEL compared to the newcomers was CLZ, who played for the organization last season as well. Together with FENNEL, the 20-year-old Japanese won the VCT 2021: Japan Stage 3 Challengers 2 and took the top 4 at the VCT 2021: Japan Stage 3 Challengers Playoffs.
The trio Xdll, hiroronn and SyouTa completed the roster. The first is considered one of the strongest space controllers in Japan with the signature Sova, Fade and Skye, the second is a 17-year-old talent with ZETA Academy in the position of a sniper, and the third is a 19-year-old lurker with great promise.
Johnta will lead the formation of the team in the position of head coach. Previously, the Ukrainian specialist worked with FunPlus Phoenix and Team Heretics.
In addition, other members of the coaching staff were also introduced. Mltdwn Assistant, Euler Strategy Trainer, K1rin Analyst and Juin Manager.
