G2 Esports have officially disbanded their Valorant roster

Representatives of the G2 Esports esports club announced the complete dissolution of their Valorant roster. Previously, mixwell moved to the ranks of Heroic , after which it became known that the latter were interested in cooperation with AvovA as well. On September 21, esportsmen were transferred to inactive , and now the esports club has completely refused all the services of its players in this discipline.

The first Valorant roster of G2 Esports was assembled in 2020. Back then, the roster included such players as Jacob 'pyth' Mourujärvi, Patrik 'paTiTek' Fabrowski, Ardis 'ardiis' Svarenieks, Oscar 'mixwell' Kanellas Kolocho and David 'Davidp' Prince. In July of that year, several players traveled to other clubs to continue their careers there. Later, the roster was filled with other players.

The latest G2 Esports roster included mixwell, Meddo, nukkye, Hoody and AvovA. The swan song for Valorant players was the performance at VCT 2022: Stage 1 Masters Reykjavik, where the team took 5th-6th place and earned a reward of $40,000. After that, the results of the roster went into decline. The team took part in VCT 2022: EMEA Stage 2 Challengers, where it took 7th-8th place, and VCT 2022: EMEA Last Chance Qualifier, where it took 3rd place. The team could not make it to VALORANT Champions 2022, and this was most likely the last straw in the patience of G2 management.

The loudest achievements of G2 Esports in the history of the existence of the Valorant roster can be called the 3rd-4th place at VCT 2021: Stage 3 Masters Berlin, where their reward was $85,000, and the 5th-6th place at VCT 2022: Stage 1 Masters Reykjavik, where the roster earned $40,000.

Previously, G2 Esports were rumored to be counting on getting a slot in the Valorant franchise league in America or Europe in 2023. The scandal with the ex-director of G2 Esports Carlos 'ocelote' Rodriguez played a role in this situation and Riot Games decided not to issue them an invitation.

The latest G2 Esports roster looked like this:

  • Oscar 'mixwell' Canellas (departed from Team Heretics)
  • Johan 'Meddo' Lundborg (free agent)
  • Zygimantas 'nukkye' Sipalis (free agent)
  • Aaro 'Hoody' Peltokangas (free agent)
  • AvovA (free agent. Possibly moving to Team Heretics)
