NAVI teasing ANGE1 transfer?
Ukrainian esports organization NAVI has released a welcome video announcing its acceptance to the list of VCT 2023 partners for Europe. However, many fans managed to note one interesting detail, which, potentially, could indicate the imminent transfer of ANGE1 to the "Born to Win" lineup.
The video shows the owner of the organization Evgeny Zolotarev, who runs around the headquarters of NAVI with a box that shows the Riot Games badge, confirming their acceptance into the partner league. At the 38th second of the three-minute video, Zolotarev runs into a room where a T-shirt is laid out in the most visible place. On it you can see the nickname "ANGE1", and also attached the signature: "New samples of 2023 have arrived."
ANGE1 has spent the last two years with FunPlus Phoenix. Together with the team, the 33-year-old Ukrainian player became the winner of VCT 2021: Europe Stage 2 Challengers 1, VCT 2022: EMEA Stage 1 Challengers and VCT 2022: Stage 2 Masters - Copenhagen, and also got into the TOP-3 at VCT 2021: Europe Stage 1 Masters and VCT 2022: EMEA Stage 2 Challengers.
In addition, at the last VALORANT Champions 2022, the European team took fourth place, thus securing the status of the strongest representative of Europe.
However, FunPlus Phoenix was not included in the final list of Riot Games partners for the next competitive season. At the same time, numerous insiders report that the Chinese club is ready to sell its squad and focus on developing the team in Asia.
In turn, NAVI got into the European League, where Team Vitality, Karmine Corp, FUT Esports, BBL Esports, Fnatic, Team Liquid, KOI, Team Heretics and Giants Gaming will also play. At the same time, "Born to Win" managed to get rid of their previous line-up, saying goodbye to Cloud, 7ssk7 and coach SmartSeven.
If NAVI really presented the future transfer, one can only guess who will make it to the final roster and will fight at the very top next year.
