FC Barcelona and Solary plan to enter VALORANT

According to the BLIX.GG portal, the Spanish football club Barcelona and the French eSports organization Solary are considering entering the VALORANT discipline. The clubs have held initial negotiations to enter the competition, but they do not qualify for participation in the main partner league for Europe.

At the same time, FC Barcelona and Solary still focus on the development of their divisions in the League of Legends and Rocket League disciplines, but do not exclude expansion in the future.

Recall that a little earlier, Riot Games presented the details of the TIER-2 scene for VALORANT for 2023, including new championships and details of promoting teams to the TIER-1 level.

As part of VALORANT Challengers, teams that did not qualify for the affiliate program will compete. In addition, teams that start in Challengers will have access to international leagues and eventually even global tournaments.

The top TIER-2 teams with the Challengers will take part in a promotion tournament called the Ascension. In turn, the winners of the Ascension series guarantee themselves a slot in the partner league for the next 2 years.

As far as the TIER-1 scene is concerned, the location of the European league should be Berlin. The American League is expected to be hosted in Los Angeles and the Asian League is expected to be hosted in Seoul.
