Valorant will release game patch 5.0

The developers shared the details of this update, further on their behalf.

The new Pearl map will replace the Split map

  • NEW MAP: Pearl is in the game!
  • At first, Pearl can only be played in normal mode without a rank. This will allow players to learn a new card before we include it in the list of cards in a ranked game.
  • Separate matchmaking on Pearl will be available for 2 weeks, after which the new map will appear in ranked play.

RANKED GAME CHANGES

NEW RANK "BLOOMING"

  • Between "Diamond" and "Immortal" there is now another rank called "Flourish". In our opinion, there are too many players in the lower ranks, especially in Bronze and Silver. After studying the rank distribution, we realized that if we move some of you to higher ranks, then too many players will already be in Platinum and Diamond. As such, the new rank will help distribute players more evenly, preserve the prestige of high ranks, and make the boundaries between skill levels for each rank clearer.
  • In this regard, for all ranks below "Flourish", the target MMR values \u200b\u200bthat determine the rank reduction are changing. Target values for "Immortal" (1, 2 and 3) and "Radiant" have become higher. These are the same MMR values at which you can reach a certain rank. MMR Targets define your RRI and help you rank in line with your MMR.
  • This change will cause all players below Prime to rank up.
  • We believe that a high rank must be earned, so players of the Immortal rank and above will now have a harder time reaching their previous rank from the previous episode. In addition, there will be fewer Immortal players on the leaderboard in all regions.
  • Due to the seasonal rank reset at the beginning of an episode, your rank may not increase until you prove your skill, but this reset will be less significant compared to the beginning of the last episode. Since some players are moving to Flourish rank, the reset won't affect your current rank much.
  • Perhaps the next time you reset your ranks, you will find yourself lower than at the beginning of this episode. Don't forget that the "forgiving" reset will only be at the beginning of this episode due to the addition of the "Flourish" rank.
  • The difference in ranks in a group with the owner of the "Flourishing" rank should not exceed 3 ranks. These limits are consistent with the current rule for Platinum and above.
  • Flourish 1 is now the highest rank that can be achieved through calibration (not Diamond 1 as before).
  • RRI gain and loss are now reduced by 25% in 5-player groups with Immortal 1 or higher (not Diamond 3 or higher).
  • Immortal 1 or higher (rather than Diamond 3 or higher) can now only play alone, in duo, or in a party of 5. As you remember, earlier players of Diamond 3 and above could only play solo, two or five. This limitation now starts at Immortal 1.
  • After the introduction of the new rank, penalties to a group of 5 players and restrictions on the number of players in a group will begin with the Immortal rank. The rank system will be more logical, as the lowest rank on the leaderboard is "Immortal 1", players will have stricter requirements if they want to take their place on it.
  • Due to confusion in the English titles after the addition of the new rank, we have changed the rank for reaching level 8 of the Sage contract. Now it is called "Fearless". We were very reluctant to change the rank, but we thought about it and decided to take the chance to choose something more suitable for Sage in terms of her history and character.
  • BUG FIXES

    CARDS

    • Fixed an issue that prevented players from using the graffiti on the wall in Garden A on the Haven map.

    AGENTS

    • Fixed an issue where Jett could use weapons during Tailwind.
    • Fixed an issue where agents spotted by Sova Recon or Fade would sometimes appear in the wrong location on the minimap for a short time.
    • Fixed an issue where aiming with the Chamber weapon while Demonstration of Power was active would sometimes cause the crosshair visual effect to disappear.

    GAME SYSTEMS

    • Fixed an issue where using an ult orb or disarming a Spike at max range would sometimes cause the animations for those actions and the progress bar to flicker.
    • Fixed an issue where the item usage progress bar would not update if the player disconnected and reconnected online during a match.
    • Fixed a bug due to which the animation of selecting certain types of weapons sometimes played at the wrong speed and it was not clear when to start shooting. This bug affected the following actions: Cypher exiting the "Camera" mode;
    • collecting ultimate skill spheres;
    • cancel or complete the installation of Spike.

    Patch 5.0 and Act 1 of Episode 5 will be released on Wednesday, June 22nd.
