Team Envy completes merger with OpTic Gaming, transferring VALORANT roster
North American esports organizations Team Envy and OpTic Gaming are finalizing their merger. As a result of the agreement, the Team Envy roster will perform under the OpTic Gaming tag. Recall that this is the third team that has passed under the new banner since the announcement of the merger of the clubs.
Recall that back in November, Team Envy and OpTic Gaming decided to unite under one banner. The merger also came at the height of Team Envy's call of duty league rebranding from Dallas Empire to OpTic Texas. Later that month, the team announced their roster for the Halo Championship Series.
The original Team Envy VALORANT roster appeared in the summer of 2020. Over the next few months, the team formed the final bone, with which they became the winner of Cloud9 To The Skyes and VCT 2021: North America Stage 1 Challengers 2, and also got into the top three at Pop Flash, First Strike North America, VCT 2021: North America Stage 3 Challengers Playoffs and VCT 2021: Stage 3 Masters - Berlin.
The next tournament for OpTic Gaming will be VCT 2022: North America Stage 1 Challengers starting today, February 11th. In the first meeting, the team will face Rise.
From now on, OpTic Gaming's VALORANT roster is as follows:
- FNS.
- victor.
- crashes.
- yay.
- Marvel.
- Chet (coach).
