Gen.G Esports may get a Rocket League roster

According to the Shiftrle.gg portal, the multinational esports organization Gen.G Esports may acquire a Rocket League roster. The club is currently aiming to build a roster that is in contention for North American titles during the off-season and has not ruled out bringing in talent from other regions. The organization also plans to work with game content creators as it expands in the discipline.

Founded in 2017 as a Korean esports organization, Gen.G Esports has successfully built several well-known rosters in the esports world both domestically in South Korea and across the Pacific and North America.

The organization currently boasts one of the strongest League of Legends teams in the world. Gen.G Esports also manages the Overwatch League's Seoul Dynasty brand and has managed North American rosters for VALORANT and Counter Strike Global Offensive in recent years. The organization was ranked the sixth most valuable esports organization in the world by Forbes in 2020.

Most recently, the Gen.G Esports organization allowed their VALORANT team to explore their options due to the growing uncertainty surrounding the arrival of a partner league next year. The organization has chosen Rocket League as its next destination and will look into an ever-growing pool of free agents during the off-season, including players from other regions, to build a team capable of winning championships.

The club also plans to bring on board several Rocket League content creators to join established streamers and start building a close bond with fans. This will be the organization's first experience in Rocket League and Gen.G Esports will join clubs such as Moist Esports, Natus Vincere and Luminosity Gaming who entered the discipline last year.
