PC Gamer recently interviewed Rainbow Six Siege Game Director Jean-Baptiste Hall, who announced the advent of cross-progression and crossplay in Ubisoft's shooter. We are talking only about console versions. Xbox and PlayStation players will soon be able to play with each other. Jean-Baptiste also noted that cross-play between game consoles and computers is not a very successful idea. Obviously, keyboard and mouse users will have a distinct advantage over console users.

Cross-progression is already available on consoles. Xbox One and PS4 users have had the opportunity to bring their progress to the Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. Despite this, consolidating progress between consoles from Microsoft and Sony is still an impossible task.
