Rainbow Six Siege x Payday: Iconic Heisters Join the Fight in Exciting New Crossover
Rainbow Six Siege recently unveiled a trailer showcasing a crossover with the Payday series. The game has consistently maintained a large player base and remains one of the most played titles on Xbox. Additionally, Rainbow Six Siege has averaged over 50,000 players on Steam in recent months, with streamers like Jynxzi drawing tens of thousands of viewers to their gameplay.
On the other hand, the Payday series has faced some challenges since the latest installment received a lukewarm reception. However, in July 2024, Payday 3 saw a surge in player numbers following a major content update that introduced a new heist and highly anticipated features. With the new Rainbow Six Siege collaboration and recent updates, the Payday franchise might be on the brink of a revival.
In the newly released trailer, Rainbow Six Siege introduces a cosmetic bundle for the operators Wamai and Zero, featuring iconic Payday heisters. Zero sports an outfit inspired by Dallas, while Wamai takes on the appearance of Chains. Both operators wear the signature masks of their respective Payday characters, concealing their faces. The trailer also showcases new gun skins for each operator, adorned with the Payday character’s name. The bundle is available for 4080 credits or can be purchased separately for each character at 2160 credits. This crossover is one of many Payday has participated in, with previous games in the franchise also featuring significant collaborations.
Dallas and Chains Join Rainbow Six Siege as a Cosmetic Bundle
Rainbow Six Siege has solidified its place as one of the best Tom Clancy games, continuing the legacy of the renowned novelist after whom the series is named. Since its release in December 2015, this live-service game has been thriving for nearly nine years. Originally launching with just eight operators, the game now boasts 71 operators (excluding the recruit), with more being added each season. Both attackers and defenders have dozens of operators to choose from.
The collaboration between Payday and Rainbow Six Siege could potentially reignite interest in Payday 3, introducing new players to the franchise. Rainbow Six Siege has a history of successful crossovers, such as the collaboration with Dead by Daylight, which has helped expose these intellectual properties to Siege's large player base, creating mutual benefits for both franchises.
