Rumors: FURIA will leave Rainbow Six discipline
According to the BLIX.GG portal, the Brazilian esports organization FURIA is going to leave the Rainbow Six discipline. It is reported that the decision was made in just a few days, and the official announcement will take place over the next few weeks.
The FURIA organization appeared on the scene in 2020. For three seasons, the Brazilian club tried to stick to one backbone, making point changes in the composition. As a legacy in the discipline, FURIA became the winner of Gamers Without Borders 2021 - LATAM and Copa do Brasil - Season 2022: Stage 3, and also got into the top three at Copa Elite Six - Season 2021: Stage 3, Copa Elite Six - Season 2022: Stage 1, Brasileirão 2022 - Stage 2 and Brasileirão 2022 - Finals.
In addition, the team took part in the Six Invitational 2021 (9th-12th place), Six Mexico Major 2021 (5th-8th place), Six Sweden Major 2021 (13th-16th place), Six Invitational 2022 (9th-12th place), Six Charlotte Major 2022 (9th-12th place) and Six Berlin Major 2022 (5th-8th place).
Probably, the decision to leave the discipline was made against the backdrop of the team’s failure in the recent closed qualifiers for the Six Invitational 2023. In addition, the organization, like many others, has no information regarding the future of the competitive scene, which from the new season is moving to a semi-open system with partner slots.
As a result, FURIA will join other well-known organizations that have either left the discipline or are exploring their options and awaiting a decision from Ubisoft. These include PSG eSports, Gaimin Gladiators, TSM, XSET, 00NATION, Luminosity Gaming and Beastcoast.
