Papilia has retired from the competitive scene
Esportsman Papilia has announced his retirement from the competitive scene. The 26-year-old Japanese told his followers on Twitter about this, talking about exhaustion, as well as the lack of pleasure from the game. This came shortly after the REJECT team announced their decision to terminate the contracts of all players and staff.
One thing I have to tell you this time is that I am ending my professional career as a Rainbow Six player. Repeating things like this, it's been about three years since I last left a world tournament. It's been five years (about six years) since I became a professional esports player.
To be honest, I don't feel any decline in my game. I think that there are guys who are stronger than me, but it is also true that I cannot think that I am completely inferior to them. But what I considered the biggest decline was the driving force. My motivation to dream, my competitive spirit, my enjoyment of the game, the decline of the scene, all these factors make me feel overwhelmed. This is a great reason to retire.
The future is not decided yet and I think I would be happy if I could be involved in something as a coach or a caster.
Papilia reportedly had thoughts of retirement after several failed attempts to return to the Six Invitational after a record-breaking run to the semi-finals of the 2019 Six Invitational. league cut off all hopes for the future and led to the fact that the organization said goodbye to the entire team.
Papilia has been performing on the pro scene since 2016. During his career, the 26-year-old Japanese became the winner of Pro League Season 8 - Asia Pacific, and also got into the top three at Six Masters 2018, Pro League Season 8 - Finals, Six Invitational 2019, Pro League Season 10 - Asia Pacific and Japan Open 2022 - Season 1.
