Mephi became the fifth player of SANDBOX Gaming
South Korean esports organization SANDBOX Gaming has completed the Rainbow Six roster by signing a contract with Mephi. The 19-year-old South Korean is set to replace SyAIL, who left the team earlier this week. The transfer takes place before the start of the closed qualification for the Six Invitational 2023.
Please welcome Mephi as he joins our Rainbow Six roster! We're happy that Mephi put in an impressive performance for Spear Gaming. Please look forward to him starting a new chapter with SANDBOX Gaming!
Mephi spent the last six months of his career with Spear Gaming, where he moved from the T1 camp in the summer. In six months, the 19-year-old South Korean player made it to the top three at the Korean Open 2022 - Summer, ROG Masters Asia-Pacific 2022: South Korea and Korean Open 2022 - Autumn, establishing himself as a rising star in the Asian scene.
Recall that a few days ago, the South Korean organization said goodbye to SyAIL, which represented the colors of SANDBOX Gaming over the past year and won several championships with the team.
These changes are coming just before the start of the Asia Pacific 2023 Closed Qualifier for the Six Invitational 2023. Here, the South Korean team will fight for one vacant slot in the main championship of the season. The qualifiers started today, December 15th.
