WarTurtle ends esports career with Rainbow Six
WarTurtle has announced the end of its Rainbow Six esports career. The 21-year-old New Zealand specialist took to Twitter to explain his reasons for leaving the stage, emphasizing that he needs to focus on his studies and personal life.
This isn't really a surprise to most people, but it's time to make it official.
I knew the day would come when I would write this, but it still feels weird, Rainbow Six has been a big part of my life for the past few years, but it's time to move on. I've had the pleasure of meeting so many amazing people through this game. All the memories I have from this game I will cherish forever, especially the memories of the last 2 years with my former teammates Chiefs and Elevate.
Why? There are several reasons: 1) I'm going back to university to get a degree in software engineering; 2) I want to spend more time with friends and family; 3) Over time, I lost interest in the game, I hoped that everything would return, but this never happened. So a combination of lack of interest and the challenges the game is having helped me make this decision.
In addition to returning to university, my intention is to compete in Apex Legends. It's a game that I really love and I've been wanting to take part in the esports part of the game for a long time. I'm really looking forward to making the switch and getting more involved over the next few months.
WarTurtle hit the scene in 2019. For three years, the 21-year-old New Zealand specialist managed to work with Team CryptiK, Elevate and Chiefs Esports Club, leading them to victories in Oceanic Nationals 2021 - Stage 1, Oceanic Nationals 2021 - Stage 2, APAC League 2021 Playoffs - Stage 3 and Oceanic Nationals 2021 - Finals.
