Krafton Reveals PUBG: BLINDSPOT—A New 5v5 Tactical Shooter Coming to Steam

Krafton has officially announced PUBG: BLINDSPOT, a brand-new game confirmed for PC via Steam. Alongside the announcement, Krafton shared a detailed gameplay trailer and revealed when players can get their first hands-on experience with the game.

First released in 2017, PUBG: Battlegrounds was a trailblazer in the multiplayer online battle royale genre. Featuring realistic graphics and gameplay inspired by classics like H1Z1 and Arma 3, it introduced the now-iconic formula where 100 players battle it out until only one remains. To achieve the coveted "chicken dinner," players must scavenge for weapons and gear across well-known maps like Erangel, Miramar, and Sanhok. Although PUBG is no longer at its peak popularity, it continues to receive support through regular updates.

Expanding the PUBG universe, Krafton has now unveiled PUBG: BLINDSPOT, with a release date yet to be announced. Currently confirmed exclusively for PC, this new title—formerly known as Project ARC—is a 5v5 top-down tactical shooter that emphasizes strategic planning, fast-paced combat, and realistic gameplay. The official trailer, featuring renowned PUBG player Matt "Kickstart" Smith, showcases what players can expect. In each match, the attacking team must breach a building and deploy a device called a decrypter, while the defending team uses barricades and other tools to prevent their advance.

Krafton Unveils PUBG: BLINDSPOT, the First PUBG: Battlegrounds Spin-Off

Players eager to try PUBG: BLINDSPOT will have their first opportunity soon, as a playable demo is set to release on Steam on February 20 at 11 PM ET. According to the official Steam page, the demo will feature 10 unique characters, each equipped with their own weapons and special tools. Players can expect to use familiar firearms like the Mk14, AWM, and P90, along with tactical gadgets such as smoke grenades and flashbangs. The demo will include three deathmatch maps and four demolition mission maps. While Krafton has yet to confirm whether classic PUBG maps will appear in BLINDSPOT, the developers stated they will gather player feedback to refine and enhance the game.

With gameplay reminiscent of titles like Rainbow Six Siege, the reveal of PUBG: BLINDSPOT marks a significant new chapter in Krafton's expansion strategy. As the first official spin-off of PUBG: Battlegrounds, the game is already generating buzz. Players are now eagerly awaiting the demo release and more details, including the official launch date.
