PUBG Update 38.1 Brings Vehicle Reworks, Destructible Terrain, and Skibidi Toilet Mode
PUBG Corporation will deploy Update 38.1 for PUBG: Battlegrounds on October 15, introducing a large rework to vehicles, destructible terrain for Miramar, gunplay balance updates, and new seasonal content.
KRAFTON has confirmed that PUBG: Battlegrounds Update 38.1 will go live tomorrow, October 15, bringing wide-ranging gameplay changes, system improvements, and a crossover event to the live servers. The patch will roll out between 00:00 and 08:30 UTC, with Steam automatically downloading the update once available.
The latest patch introduces extensive vehicle updates, new destructible terrain mechanics on Miramar, and multiple weapon adjustments aimed at balancing close-quarters combat. Alongside those changes, the patch includes new Ranked Season rewards, updates to Recall and Observer systems, and the announcement of a limited-time Skibidi Toilet Arcade event.
Update 38.1 also adds a new Multi-Pass system, expands the Contender customization feature, improves user interface elements, and resolves numerous bugs affecting performance, collisions, and skins across all maps.

Gameplay
Vehicles & Special Vehicle Skins Update 38.1 brings broad adjustments to vehicles and Special Vehicle skins.
- A similar level of window tint has been applied to the front and rear windows of base vehicles, matching those of Special Vehicle skins.
- The driving experience has been improved for the following vehicles and Special Vehicle skins: Dacia, Mirado, Coupe RB, “The Good Ol’ Days (Black)” Sedan, “The Good Ol’ Days (White)” Sedan.
- When equipping Special Vehicle skins:
- All vehicle windows can now be penetrated by bullets, regardless of skin type.
- All vehicles now share the same wide, consistent penetrable area at the rear, regardless of design.
- The registration time at the Blue Chip Tower now scales with the number of Blue Chips.
- Each additional Chip adds 5 seconds.
- Information regarding players returning to the Battleground is now provided through system messages and the Match Log.
- On 8×8 km maps, the Recall flight will appear one fewer time and will no longer appear from Phase 6 onwards.
- The countdown message for the Recall flight has been removed from spectator view.
- Recall-related system messages now follow the same format as regular system messages.
- Adjustments made to recall-related UI messages for consistency.
- Hip fire accuracy reduced by ~57% for all SMGs except P90.
- Sustained fire accuracy reduced by ~51.5%.
- P90 hip fire accuracy reduced by ~28.5%.
- MP5K damage reduced from 34 → 32.
- Sprinting, jumping, and vaulting are now unavailable when wielding.
- Damage to players inside vehicles reduced by 20%.
- Sight deployment sound made louder and audible from farther away.
- Trunk weight increased from 100 → 130.
- Destructible Terrain feature added to Miramar.
- Frag Grenade, Mortar, Panzerfaust, C4, Pickaxe, and vehicle explosions can now destroy terrain.
- Feature not available in Ranked or Custom – Esports modes.
- The Pickaxe item has been added.
- G-DRAGON decorations have been removed from all maps.
- Minimum performance expectations for each Tier have been slightly lowered.
- Ranked weapon skins for the P90 added as Tier rewards.
- Vehicle Camo Netting introduced (also applies to Custom Match – Esports).
- Maximum division gap for premade Ranked parties increased from 10 → 12.
- New crossover mode featuring Skibidi Toilet enemies in Miramar.

- Added “Destructible Terrain” option for Miramar.
