Experience Real-Life 'Winner Winner Chicken Dinner' with KFC and PUBG Partnership
The iconic phrase "Winner Winner Chicken Dinner" has come a long way from its Great Depression origins. Nowadays, it's the triumphant cry of PUBG Mobile and PUBG: Battlegrounds players when their squads emerge victorious. PUBG: Battlegrounds, inspired by the Japanese action thriller Battle Royale, drops a hundred players onto a remote island for an intense showdown, where they scavenge for weapons and supplies, battling in a shrinking play zone.
Now, this taste of victory is brought into the real world through a collaboration between game developer Tencent Games and global fast-food giant KFC, aptly named the Gamer Box.
When customers order the KFC Gamer Box 2023, they receive a scratch card that can be redeemed for in-game loot. The rewards include up to six battle cosmetics inspired by KFC's signature red and white colors, tantalizing PUBG: Battlegrounds and PUBG Mobile gamers in every way possible.
The Gamer Box meal comprises a Jr. Original Recipe Snacker, a box of regular Shots, a glass of iced tea, a brownie, and a free PUBG Game Code.
Each KFC Gamer Box 2023 comes with a voucher code to redeem on the KFC X PUBG website, accessible via QR codes or in-store vouchers. Once on kfcxpubg.com, users can redeem their vouchers to receive codes for in-game rewards on PC, console, or mobile devices.
Benj Dalmacio, Senior Business Development Manager at Tencent, expressed his gratitude to the players for their continued support for both the game and the partnership, noting that the collaboration with KFC was the perfect combination.
KFC's Chief Marketing Officer, Charmaine Bautista Pamintuan, highlighted the importance of gaming in today's youth culture and emphasized the desire to connect with the younger generation through this partnership.
To celebrate this collaboration, the KFCBonifacio Triangle branch turned into a PUBG Battleground over the weekend, drawing gamers, cosplayers, streamers, shoutcasters, and personalities for a thrilling event that included amateur players going head-to-head against SIBOL, the Philippines' national esports team.
