It turns out that Overwatch League organizers are planning to host the league's fifth season on an early version of a new esports discipline client, namely Overwatch 2.
The start of Overwatch League Season 5 is scheduled for April 2022. One of the major changes to Overwatch 2 is that the teams fighting each other will now consist of 5 people instead of 6 people.
