New Overwatch 2 Support Hero Wuyang Arrives Soon – Trial Dates & Full Release

Blizzard has confirmed that Wuyang, the upcoming Support Hero in Overwatch 2, will be available for players to try during a Hero Trial running from August 14–18. This limited event will let fans test Wuyang’s abilities ahead of his full debut in Season 18, launching Tuesday, August 26.

🎯 A Packed Month for Overwatch 2

August is shaping up to be an action-filled month for Overwatch 2. Just days before the announcement, on August 5, Blizzard revealed a Nerf collaboration, introducing:

• Six weapon skins inspired by the Nerf brand
• A Legendary Cassidy skin
• A limited-time “Nerf or Nothin’” deathmatch mode (available until August 18)

This special mode removes Support heroes like Mercy from the roster and reduces cooldowns by 80%, ensuring matches are fast-paced and chaotic.

🆕 Wuyang – Overwatch 2’s 44th Hero

While Wuyang won’t appear in the Nerf crossover, players can soon get their hands on him during the August 14 Hero Trial.

Blizzard also confirmed that a motion comic, gameplay trailer, and developer livestream will drop in the days leading up to the trial.

Wuyang’s kit revolves around aquatic powers that control the battlefield while healing allies:

• Guardian Wave (E): Boosts healing received by teammates and knocks back enemies.
• Ultimate – Tidal Blast: Summons a water shield for himself or an ally, which can detonate to knock down enemies and heal the shielded player.
• Additional Perks: Options to amplify healing output or increase the number of controllable water orbs.

Alongside Wuyang’s release, Overwatch 2 Season 18 will feature:
