Game & Event Updates 🎉

Patch Rebase (2.20.1)

This update is a full rebase across all platforms, meaning players — especially on console — should expect a larger-than-usual download size.

Showdown Shuffle Returns 🔄

Running from January 13–26, Showdown makes a chaotic comeback with a new twist:

  • Heroes shuffle mid-match
  • Random modifiers rotate throughout the game
  • Challenges reward cosmetics, loot boxes, and Battle Pass XP

Some of the rotating modifiers include:

  • Mini Maxing – Heroes are 50% smaller, health reduced by 30%
  • Lie Low – Crouching grants invisibility (with close-range detection)
  • Power Punch – Melee attacks knock enemies back
  • Vampiric Healing – No passive regen, but lifesteal for all heroes
  • Aerial Combat – Increased airborne damage with reduced gravity
  • Berserkers – Lower HP boosts attack speed and cooldown recovery
  • Explosive – Heroes explode on death 💥
  • Hyper Speed – 30% increased movement speed
  • Buff Hunt – One random hero becomes overpowered each minute

Quick Play: Hacked — Assault Returns

From January 8–11, classic Assault maps return in:

  • 5v5
  • 6v6
  • Mystery Heroes queues

Junkrat’s Loot Hunt 💣

Back once again from January 22–25, complete challenges to earn loot boxes as you play.

D.VaExtended Boosters encouraged aggression, but the damage boost was overtuned.

  • Extended Boosters perk damage reduced from 100% → 40%

RoadhogWhole Hog struggled to secure eliminations due to heavy knockback.

  • Whole Hog damage per pellet increased from 6 → 7

Damage Hero Updates 🎯

  • Viper’s Sting perk ammo gain reduced from 2 → 1
  • Secondary fire falloff reduced to 35–55 meters

  • Recon mode damage reduced from 25 → 23

  • Raging Storm perk damage lowered
  • Soaring Slice now starts on cooldown after respawn

VentureDrill Dash required less precision than intended.

  • Drill Dash radius reduced from 2.4 → 2.0 meters
