Afreeca Freecs excluded 5 players from LoL-roster
Afreeca Freecs has announced that it has made changes to the League of Legends roster. Now only Kim 'Kiin' Ji-in, Song 'Fly' Yong-joon and Lee 'Dread' Jin-hyok remain in the lineup.
Kim 'ALL IN' Tei-young, Jin 'Mystic' Siong-joon, Seo 'SS' Jin-sol, Nam 'Ben' Dong-hyun, Song 'Jelly' Ho-gyon, and Lee 'Spirit' left the starting lineup. -jun. The latter was transferred to the Academy-roster, and the remaining five moved to the status of free agents.
The past season was not the most successful for Afreeca Freecs. The Korean team took the sixth place in the LCK Spring 2020 standings and the fifth line in the LCK Summer 2020 standings. In the summer split, the team was able to reach the playoffs, but lost in the fight against Gen.G Esports.
Despite these accomplishments, Riot Games honored Afreeca Freecs to be one of ten select teams to receive direct invitations to LCK Spring 2021. The Korean League of Legends league has moved into a franchise format for the new season. Analysts are confident that Afreeca Freecs have a good chance of competing for their place in the top 3 rosters in Korea if the management can build a good roster around Kiin.
