Afreeca Freecs say goodbye to Iloveoov
The management of the esports organization announced on their Twitter account that they did not renew the contract with Choi 'Iloveoov' Yu Song. He will leave the club in mid-November when the offseason begins.
On November 1, Riot Games announced that the Korean League LCK Spring 2021 will be franchised. In the first season of this type, Afreeca Freecs became one of the ten participating clubs. At the moment, representatives of the above organization have only announced that they have refused the services of a coach. They did not talk about whether they will make some changes in their League of Legends roster.
Choi 'Iloveoov' Yu Song became Afreeca Freecs coach at the end of 2016. The best result of Iloveoov as a coach of the team was the second place by the team at LCK Spring 2018 and Afreeca Freecs' advancement to the playoff stage in the 2018 World Championship. The only victory that the players and the coach can boast of was the triumph at the KeSPA Cup 2019.
Iloveoov was a professional StarCraft player prior to his coaching career, and gained popularity playing under the SK Telecom T1 tag. He spent the first year of his career performing under the banners of Orion and 4 Union, after which he joined SK Telecom T1 in 2004. For 7 years of playing in the latter, he earned more than $ 165,000 in prize money.
