In a public statement, Beşiktaş Esports explained that the decision followed a thorough internal review. The organization cited long-term sustainability concerns and the need to take more deliberate and confident steps in planning for the future as the key factors behind the move.

Despite stepping away from League of Legends for now, Beşiktaş stressed that the door remains open for a potential return. The club noted it would consider re-entering the scene if future conditions align with the ambitions and long-term goals of Beşiktaş Esports.

Beşiktaş first entered the League of Legends ecosystem in 2015, becoming one of the earliest major traditional sports clubs to establish an esports division. Over the years, the team claimed two Turkish regional league titles and represented the region at the 2015 Mid-Season Invitational, where they finished in last place.

While League of Legends is no longer part of its portfolio, Beşiktaş will continue to invest in esports through its teams in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, PUBG Mobile, EA FC, and NBA 2K.
