LEC officially allows scrim streams for league teams
LEC has made an official statement that is sure to delight fans of the professional League of Legends scene.
Starting March 23, test streams will launch, allowing LEC teams to broadcast their scrims under certain conditions. The main requirements are that streams must not overlap with EMEA Masters broadcasts, and each team can participate in only one streamed scrim throughout the test period.
Previously, such broadcasts were prohibited as they could overload an already packed season and diminish the uniqueness of key LEC matchups. That is why this experiment is being approached with great caution.
However, a similar test in the American region showed positive results—viewer engagement and interest increased significantly.
It is important to note that LEC did not make this decision unilaterally but discussed it in advance with the teams. Given their heavy workload, all aspects were carefully worked out to ensure the process is comfortable for all participants.
For us, the viewers, this is a great opportunity to watch teams not only in official matches but also during their preparation, seeing how they make decisions in real-time. This will be especially useful for those aspiring to a professional esports career.
Stay tuned for updates and upcoming LEC streams!
