A New League of Legends Series from Riot Coming Soon?
Rumors suggest that Riot Games will begin filming a new live-action series based on League of Legends this year. The story will unfold in the world of Runeterra, and the series will likely consist of 9 episodes. What’s particularly notable is that, unlike Arcane, this will be a live-action series, and the filming location will be Vietnam, specifically on the Cat Ba Archipelago. This decision was made due to the resemblance between Cat Ba’s locations and Bilgewater—home to monster hunters, bandits, and traders from across the world.
There are also rumors that Rose Lam, the producer of the The Last of Us series, will be joining the project. This insider information was shared by Big Bad Bear on his YouTube channel. Details about the plot and cast are still unknown, but the intrigue is already building. Although Arcane didn’t bring Riot Games enormous profits, it became one of the most expensive animated series, increased brand recognition, and attracted new fans to the League of Legends universe. If the new series is made to the same standard or even better, it could very well replicate Arcane’s success, and Riot Games could continue expanding their cinematic universe as planned.
