The North American esports organization TSM has announced the departure of Huni as head coach of the League of Legends roster. In addition, the 24-year-old South Korean specialist announced his retirement due to a wrist injury.

Huni has decided to retire today. Persistent at the top, legend of three regions, champion. You've had a hell of a career. On behalf of the entire League of Legends esports scene: Thank you for everything, Huni.

Huni appeared on the radar back in 2015. Over the course of seven years of his professional career, the 24-year-old South Korean player managed to win EU LCS Spring 2015, EU LCS Summer 2015, LCK Spring 2017 and Mid-Season Invitational 2017, as well as get into the top three at the end of the Mid-Season Invitational 2015, 2015 World Championship, LCK Summer 2017, 2017 World Championship and NA LCS Spring 2018.

Hi all. My contract with TSM is terminated due to injury and retirement as of August 5th. I'm in a position where I can't play anymore, so I've decided to end my career. Thank you to everyone who has supported my career and it has been my pleasure to entertain those who watch the league. I am really happy that I have achieved a lot as a professional player, because I received a lot of support from everyone, and I was lucky! Thanks for the phenomenal memories. I already miss performing on stage and the way they call me there.

I haven't decided what exactly I'll be doing in the future yet, but I hope to stay in the esports industry as I haven't won the LCS yet, so maybe it's time to win as one of the staff?, wrote Huni.

Last month, Huni announced he would be stepping down from TSM's starting roster to take on the role of coach. However, severe pain prevented the 24-year-old specialist from reaching his potential, as a result of which he had to resign. Huni's contract with the North American club was reportedly terminated by mutual agreement.

Currently, TSM continues its performances within the LCS Summer 2022. A few rounds before the end of the group stage, the team did not secure a place in the playoffs.

From now on, the composition of TSM in the League of Legends discipline is as follows:

  • Solo
  • Spica
  • maple
  • instinct
  • Chime
  • Chawy and Kayys (coaching staff)
