The nameTim Reichertis likely to be unknown to most fans and people attracted to esports from Europe. But everyone knows his contribution to the industry.

He is one of the founders of SK Gaming, the former head of the Schalke 04 Esports esports organization, and now, in simple words, the director of the British esports organization EXCEL.

We learned about this from a long interview with Tim Reichert, who was invited by Esports Insider to discuss all the issues that are relevant and of interest to the audience.

EXCEL is definitely not the team where Tim Reichert could be expected after his success in Schalke 04 Esports, but the man himself is one hundred percent sure that he made the right decision.

“I loved what I did at Schalke and there were a lot of different opportunities, but I came to the conclusion that working with the organization, working with teams and players, working with the content department is what I still do. I do and would like to continue.

I was looking at different options and EXCEL had a really good offer."

According to him, he saw that EXCEL is progressing very well and has even greater opportunities for growth, that is, potential. And he himself wants to be part of a project in which he visually sees his contribution and the result of his work. For him, EXCEL has become the best possible option, although there is still a lot to work on.

Let me remind you that Reichert started working with Schalke 04 back in 2015 and went through an extremely difficult path to what the organization was able to achieve within professional eSports. But recently, the football club that owns the organization ran into severe financial problems and had to sell their LEC 2022 slot and part of the team to the guys from Team BDS for $26,000,000 USD.

“It was a big risk. It was not like other League of Legends companies and teams, it was a big gamble based on the view from the outside and the view of the fan, because with this money you could buy a good player for your football team.

It's not a small six-figure investment like it was in 2016, which was a big investment at the time, but Madrid has changed everything. As we invested, and as we started making real returns, and as we figured out how to convince partners to join our journey, it just got bigger and bigger.”

Now the goal of EXCEL, together with the new director, is to become the team that other organizations will reckon with and consider as a rival in the world of eSports. He clarified that in 2021 the organization has grown a lot in terms of its quality thanks to the new staff that was hired. It is the people that Tim focused on during the conversation, in his opinion, the cultivation of an esports brand is, first of all, about the people who work there.

“It's about raising the level of human resources, raising the level of people working in EXCEL, and creating the most interesting and fun content for our audience. Because we want to engage the audience with entertaining stuff, and not engage the audience just because we're based somewhere or we're telling a big story."
