Riot Games and Mercedes-Benz Unveil 2021 World Championship Rings
Games publisher Riot Games has partnered with German automotive giant Mercedes-Benz to unveil a commemorative championship ring for the 2021 World Championship. Riot Games and Mercedes-Benz will give each member of the winning team a custom-made championship ring after the 2021 World Championship final in Reykjavik.
Each ring is crafted from 18K white gold and sapphire. The ring will use a similar blue and silver color palette associated with the World Championship signature trophy, first unveiled in 2012.
Created jointly by the Mercedes-Benz and Riot Games design teams, the rings reportedly represent the highest level of achievement and prestige in esports.
The championship rings were announced just a year after Riot Games partnered with Mercedes-Benz. As part of the deal, the automotive giant is also sponsoring trophy awards at key international events including the World Championship, Mid-Season Invitational and All-Star.
This is not the first time that the winners of a major esports tournament have received personal commemorative awards. This year, NAVI players who became BLAST Premier Global Final 2020 winners received stylish watches from TW Steel.
