DWG KIA wins 2021 Worlds playoff debut

Group A
In this DWG quartet, KIA fought FunPlus Phoenix, and Rogue fought Cloud9. DWG KIA beat their opponents in 29 minutes. Rogue needed three more minutes to reach their goal - Cloud9 were defeated in 32 minutes.
Group B
T1 and Edward Gaming turned out to be the best in this group based on the results of the first meetings. The teams prevailed over Detonation FocusMe and 100 Thieves, respectively. T1 took part in the fastest match of the first game day in the playoffs and defeated Detonation FocusMe before reaching the 20 minute mark. 100 Thieves, in turn, held the defense against Edward Gaming for 28 minutes, but could not withstand the onslaught of their opponents.
Group C
If in Group B the fastest match of the group stage took place, then in Group C, opposite, the longest match took place. It was attended by Royal Never Give Up and PSG.Talon. RNG defeated Hanabi and his teammates from PSG.Talon in 37 minutes. Hanwha Life, in turn, did not concede their first map in the group stage to Fnatic, beating the rivals in 31 minutes.
Group D
In the last quartet, Team Liquid and Gen.G Esports were able to defeat MAD Lions and LNG Esports, respectively. Liquid defeated MAD Lions in 27 minutes, while Gen.G Esports took 23 minutes to beat the opponents of LNG Esports.
We remind you that in the group stage, the top eight will receive invitations to the final stage of the 2021 World Championship. The teams that will take 9-16 places according to the results of matches in the group stage will complete their path before the start of the playoffs. Two best teams will advance from each group to the playoffs. By the way, the teams play according to the Round Robin system, and the format of all matches is Bo1.

The 2021 World Championship runs from October 5 to November 6. The total prize pool of the League of Legends World Championship is $ 2,225,000. 22 teams take part in the division of the prize money. The remaining 16 participants in the event are competing for the top prize of $ 489,500. The team that will become the silver medalist will receive $ 333,750, while the teams that take 3-4 places will receive $ 178,000 each. Initially, 24 teams were supposed to take part in the 2021 World Championship, but two Vietnamese teams representing the VCS league could not attend the event due to the rules that were established by the Vietnamese authorities in connection with the COVID-19 quarantine. All the participants, by the way, visited Reykjavik, Iceland. It is there, in a place called Laudargalshöll, that the collectives fight each other.
