Pavel wins Blizzcon 2016's Hearthstone Championship!
This BlizzCon weekend has been an exciting one, filled with exciting announcements including the Mean Streets of Gadgetzan, the Overwatch League, and a whole new expansion of Heroes and maps in Heroes of the Storm. Alongside this, we were fortunate enough to be able to watch some of the most anticipated eSports events of the year, which included a crazy Starcraft II, Warcraft Arena, Heroes of the Storm and, of course, Hearthstone finals.
Pavel took a remarkably close series against Amnesiac, and later DrHippi. Pavel’s decks included some top tier, and some not so top tier decks. They included Midrange Shaman, Yogg Malygos Druid, Miracle Rogue, C’Thun Warrior, and Tempo Mage. An interesting inclusion was, of course, the C’Thun Control Warrior, but in the end it paid off remarkable. We have seen this trend before – in fact, during qualifiers. C’Thun Warrior performed surprisingly well, despite its lack of being particularly close to top tier. This, of course, could just be personal preference, of perhaps it’s one of those decks that performs better in tournament format due to its safe method of play?
Overall, congratulations to Pavel’s outstanding play, and to everyone who picked Pavel as their Champion, congratulations to you as well!
