CD Projekt RED is partnering with Go On Board to release The Witcher: Old World, a board game based on The Witcher universe. The events of the game will unfold long before Geralt's adventures.

CD Projekt RED is working on a new project together with the Go on Board publishing house, as well as game designer Lukasz Wozniak, creator of the Valhalla game.

Old World will be designed for a company of two to five people, where each will play as a young witcher who belongs to one of the five main schools of witchers - the Wolf, the Snake, the Cat, the Griffin and the Bear. Players will travel across the continent, fulfill contracts, and fight both monsters and other witchers.

The Witcher: Old World is slated for release in April 2022. At the same time, the fundraising for Kickstarter will be launched in April 2021, and the amount of content in the box will depend on the success of the campaign. At the moment, they plan to publish the game in English and Polish, but they are already negotiating versions in other languages.

Note that The Witcher: Old World is not the first board game based on The Witcher. Prior to that, at least one RPG came out, as well as two adventure "board games", one of which, The Witcher Adventure Game, was adapted as a digital version.
