Take-Two Interactive Software Reports $ 182M Revenue
Video game developer Take-Two Interactive Software has reported its financial results for the third quarter of its 2021 fiscal year. The company's net revenue for the quarter ended December 31 was $ 861 million, down 7.4% from the $ 930 million in the third fiscal quarter last year.
While Take-Two's total revenues were slightly down from the previous year, recurring consumer spending from revenue streams such as virtual currency, additional content, and in-game purchases increased 57% to 62% of total net Take-Two's revenue. Sports simulators from developer NBA 2K21 and NBA 2K20 were some of the biggest revenue streams during the fiscal year, alongside games like Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2.
On November 6, 2020, Take-Two announced that it had made an offer to acquire British racing game publisher and developer Codemasters, then dropped the offer in January as competitor Electronic Arts was able to outbid the offer.
In total, Take-Two ended its fiscal year in the third quarter of fiscal year 2021 with net income of $ 182 million, up 11.4% from the $ 164 million in the same period last year.
