In a recent interview with Reuters, Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan shared the launch successes of the PlayStation 5. According to him, in the first 12 hours of PS5 pre-orders, there were as many orders taken as were made for the PS4 in 12 weeks.
With this in mind, Sony is working hard to increase shipments of consoles by the end of the year. However, not all fans will be able to get their copy of the console on the day of its release, which by the way comes out on November 12th.
PlayStation 4, during its existence, has sold over 100 million copies. Apparently, the PlayStation 5 will be able to surpass this figure in the first years after its release.
