Ubisoft Is Reportedly Working on Two Unannounced Assassin’s Creed Games - First Details Revealed

As is well known, Ubisoft is currently actively developing several projects set in the Assassin's Creed universe. The most prominent of these, Codename Hexe, is the next main installment in the series, which was announced back in 2022 but still has no release date. However, it appears the studio is also working on two unannounced projects within the franchise.

At least, that's what xj0nathan, a well-known franchise insider, reports. He posted a new video on his YouTube channel dedicated to two unannounced Assassin's Creed games. According to him, the first of these is Assassin's Creed Codename Mars, which is set in Ancient Rome. The second project is titled Assassin's Creed Pocket. It is a mobile game set in Jerusalem. According to the insider, its gameplay resembles the Mastery Challenge in Assassin's Creed Valhalla, the protagonist’s mentor is named Myriam, and the game itself is very similar to The Rogue Prince of Persia.

Two new Assassin’s Creed games are rumored to be in the works!

Assassin's Creed Codename Mars:

  • Rumored to be set in Ancient Rome

Assassin's Creed Pocket:

  • Mobile game set in Jerusalem
  • Gameplay akin to the Mastery Challenge in AC Valhalla
  • The hero's Mentor reportedly called Myriam
  • Visually similar to the latest Prince of Persia

Since none of this has been confirmed, xj0nathan’s report should be treated as a rumor for now. That said, fans in the comments are enthusiastic about the idea of an Assassin’s Creed set in Ancient Rome—primarily because of its similarities to the Ezio games, which were also set in Italy. Let’s also not forget that the Netflix series based on the franchise will also feature the era of Ancient Rome.

There have also been long-standing rumors Ubisoft is developing an Assassin's Creed game set in the Aztec era, known as “Codename Nebula,” but the studio has not confirmed anything on this matter. Meanwhile, late last month, the developers confirmed their focus is on new games in the franchise, and they are not currently working on remakes of older titles—though they have not ruled out the possibility in the future.
