Leak Confirms PS5 Pro Enhancements for GTA 6

In two weeks, everyone who pre-ordered GTA 6, the most anticipated game of this generation, will be able to see what Rockstar has been working on for the past 13 years. PS5 Pro owners have extra reason to be excited, as a new leak claims that version will get additional and very welcome technical features.

Social media users noticed that technical details for the PS5 Pro version appeared on the French GTA 6 page in the PS Store and were later removed, which seems to support their authenticity. The page claimed the game would support PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, an AI-based upscaling technology that improves image clarity on 4K displays. GTA 6 on PS5 Pro will also reportedly have improved ray tracing, including better reflections, shadows, and lighting.

PlayStation France listed PS5 Pro features for GTA 6 before the page was taken down.

The listing mentioned two enhancements:

• PSSR: AI-powered upscaling for sharper image quality on 4K displays.
• Advanced Ray Tracing: Improved reflections, shadows and lighting.

The page also mentioned “Atsu’s katana”, which appears to be a copy-and-paste mistake from Ghost of Yōtei.

Nothing has been revealed about performance and quality modes for GTA 6 on PS5 Pro. We still don’t know whether the game will run at 60 FPS or 30 FPS on this console, as the developers have hinted before. HipHopGamer, a well-known Rockstar insider, previously revealed players should buy a PS5 Pro because GTA 6 will run at 60 FPS on it.

Meanwhile, Rockstar Games has also officially confirmed that pre-loading for GTA 6 begins next week, on November 10, and revealed the game’s file size: 212 GB. According to Sensor Tower, pre-orders are approaching 8 million copies (7.71 million), and potential revenue has risen to $751 million.

Grand Theft Auto VI launches on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
