The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel Is Not Expected to Release Soon; Jason Schreier Claims 2028 at Least
After a long wait, Bethesda Game Studios has finally released official details about The Elder Scrolls VI, though they may not be all that substantial. During a video celebrating the company’s 40th anniversary, the studio confirmed the game has received the subtitle “Sentinel” —and this is the first update on the title since its announcement in 2018.
Considering the previous rumors that emerged this summer, fans might have thought the developers would soon start sharing more details about TES VI: Sentinel. However, Bethesda posted on social media they’ll reveal more when the time is right —but they’re happy to finally announce the title of the sixth installment and confirm the long-rumored setting: Hammerfell.
Thank you for 40 years of shared memories. We can’t wait to make even more together with The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel. Development continues, and while it’ll be some time before we’re ready to share more, it feels great to finally reveal the name and location with you.
The fire was further stoked by Jason Schreier. According to the Bloomberg journalist, The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel won’t be released until at least 2028—and this is one of those rare cases where it’s not just a prediction. Schreier added that he’s familiar with the situation surrounding the project, as you can check out his comments below:
“I think a lot of people forget that The Elder Scrolls VI was only announced in 2018 (along with Starfield) to soften the blow of Fallout 76 — "Don't worry, even though we're making a multiplayer game we've got single-player stuff coming too!"
Sorry to say this game is still more than 2 years away! It's not a prediction. I know the time frame the game is targeting.”
Earlier this year, there were already rumors that TES VI would be titled Sentinel and that it wouldn’t be released until 2028. As we can see, some of these predictions are already coming true, such as the information about the Hammerfell setting. Last month, The Verge also reported the sixth installment will delve deeper into the franchise’s history, revealing more about the mysterious scrolls. The official release date for The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel and the platforms on which the game will be available remain unknown.
