Bethesda Officially Unveiled The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel

More than eight years have passed since The Elder Scrolls VI was announced, and fans have been wondering when Bethesda would finally reveal more about this eagerly awaited RPG and share some official details. Well, it seems that day has finally arrived.

Bethesda Game Studios posted a video on its YouTube channel dedicated to the studio’s 40th anniversary, and at the end of it, a surprise awaited all The Elder Scrolls fans. The studio confirmed the title of the sixth instalment in the franchise: Sentinel. Before the short clip revealing the game’s title appeared, Todd Howard shared an early synopsis that read as follows: “The scroll offered only a shimmer, a veil thinly lifted to my eyes. A future lost. A victory undone. Sands of time scattered by fate.” You can check out the official reveal of The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel below:

Today we're sharing with you all the name of the next Elder Scrolls title (did you guess correctly?).

Interestingly, just last week, The Verge confirmed the upcoming reveal of The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel and also revealed the game will be set in Hammerfell, and the plot will delve into the franchise’s roots, focusing on the origins of the ancient scrolls. This summer, fans had already determined that Sentinel would be the title of TES VI, largely thanks to hints from Asha Sharma and early clues from Bethesda with Starfield back in 2023.

However, it remains unclear when Bethesda will release a full trailer or gameplay footage of TES VI: Sentinel. The game also still has no official release date—previous rumors suggested a launch as early as 2028. For their part, the developers have stated that The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel is their top priority at the moment, so perhaps we’ll get a new look at the game, for instance, during The Game Awards next month.
