Know What Your Skins Are Worth: Skin.Place Debuts Inventory Check

Getting a rough idea of what a skin collection is worth has usually meant looking up prices one item at a time and adding them up yourself. Skin.Place’s new Inventory Check feature is designed to do that work in one place.

Skin.Place is a marketplace where players buy and sell skins for CS2, Rust, and a range of other supported games. Along with the launch, the company published a breakdown of how the tool works.

How it works

Inventory Check gathers every skin a user owns onto one page. Each item appears with an estimated market value, and the tool adds those estimates together into a total for the inventory. Values refresh as market prices change, so users can check a current snapshot without tracking anything by hand.

Using the estimates

Inventory Check’s figures come from current market data and are meant as a guide to where each skin sits in the market. Final sale prices naturally move with demand, an item’s specific characteristics, and timing, so the tool works best as a reference point when deciding what to keep, list, or trade.

Reading the Leaderboard

Inventory Check also comes with a Leaderboard that ranks the highest-value inventories on the platform by estimated total value. Each entry lists three figures: total value, item count, and average price per item. The last two make comparisons more useful. Two inventories with similar totals can look very different, one built from hundreds of lower-priced items and another from a handful of high-end ones. That lets players benchmark their collection on size and quality as well as overall value. Because rankings are based on estimates, positions can shift as market prices move.

Built from user input

Skin.Place says the feature followed several months of surveying its users, including direct follow-ups when answers raised new questions. According to the company, that feedback decided which metrics appear in the version available now.

Getting started

Inventory Check is live for every user and can be opened directly from a user’s account, with Leaderboard rankings already in place. Skin.Place says it plans to keep refining the tool based on ongoing feedback.

Curious how your collection measures up? Open Inventory Check on Skin.Place to see an estimated value for your skins and find out where you land on the Leaderboard.
