Fans Have Spotted Max Payne Reference in GTA 6

It seems that as the release date for GTA 6 approaches—and it’s practically just around the corner—fans are closely monitoring every scrap of information in search of more details. That’s exactly what happened this time, as users managed to spot a reference to another franchise also associated with Rockstar Games.

It all started with a GamesRadar announcement that GTA 6 would appear on the cover of the new Edge magazine, which is expected to release tomorrow, October 29. It will feature new details and screenshots of the game, but some of them have already been leaked. In one of these screenshots, you can see Jason, who, as user videotech noted, bears a striking resemblance to Max Payne from the artwork for the third installment—a game also developed by Rockstar Games, as you can check out below:

GTA 5 also featured a reference to Max Payne 3 —in one of the clothing stores, Michael could purchase the iconic character’s Hawaiian shirt. As is well known, Remedy is collaborating with Rockstar Games to develop a remake of the first two games in the franchise, and a recent report confirmed this will be the publisher’s next release after GTA 6.

As for the sixth installment of Grand Theft Auto, Rockstar began sending out copies of the game to media representatives this week. Meanwhile, a new report revealed the PC version of the game will be released 6–7 months after its console launch. This was shared by analyst Michael Pachter, though at this point it is nothing more than a rumor.
