Rockstar Games’ Next Project After GTA 6 Is Revealed

There's not much time left, just under two months, until the launch of GTA 6, the most anticipated game of 2026. Rockstar Games is expected to spend the coming months polishing various aspects of the game, mostly technical ones, along with working on the PC version and GTA 6 Online before moving on to whatever's next. That next project, as it turns out, has already been confirmed.

As revealed via GamerRant, Rockstar's next major release after GTA 6 will be the Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake, enhanced versions of the first two games in the series. It is known Remedy is handling development, with Rockstar Games serves as the publisher, which is why Remedy can't share details on it while Rockstar stays focused on GTA 6. Official info likely won't surface until 2027, which is also when rumors suggest the remake collection could actually launch.

Rockstar's next release after GTA 6 is confirmed: The Max Payne remakes from Remedy, coming as a single comprehensive title for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.

Speaking of Remedy, the studio’s new game, Control Resonant, launches tomorrow, September 24. It's already earning strong reviews, and fans are speculating Alan Wake and his wife Alice could somehow factor into the story, potentially setting up events for a third Alan Wake game. Given how often Remedy plants hints for future projects, that's not an unreasonable guess.

As for GTA 6 itself, last week's leaked early GTA V build contained elements of the new game's map, which modders quickly ported over, leading to a wave of videos showing what GTA 6 looked like back in 2015, matching the build's apparent age.

Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake is confirmed to release on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5. The release date is currently unknown.
