Ghost of Yotei Performs Well in Sales - But Still Not Enough to Match with Ghost of Tsushima

A recent report shows that Ghost of Yotei from Sucker Punch Productions, released last year, has sold impressively well. It’s still too early to say it has surpassed its predecessor, Ghost of Tsushima, though the numbers are quite close.

Alinea Analytics’ Rhys Elliott shared the updated figures. His recent report claims Ghost of Yotei has earned $407 million in revenue, only 3% less than Ghost of Tsushima made over the same period after launch ($418 million). The gap is bigger in copies sold: Ghost of Yotei has sold 5.4 million, while the first game had already sold 7 million. Elliott notes that price plays a role too, since Ghost of Yotei launched at $70, and the original cost was $10 less. Three months after its release, the game was available for $45.

The numbers might have looked weaker without the Ghost of Yotei Complete Edition, which came out on October 1. It includes the new story DLC Echoes of Sekigahara and a standalone roguelite mode called Most Wanted. Late last month, the game also received a collaboration with The Last of Us, with an armor set inspired by the Clicker.

Ghost of Yotei Complete Edition is now available exclusively for PlayStation 5.
