Resident Evil Veronica Will Receive Story DLC – Fans Are Thinking What It Could Be
Capcom has confirmed that a new Resident Evil remake, Veronica, an enhanced version of the original 2000 game, will launch next year on PC, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2. According to the latest report, it will be the franchise’s second remake to get story DLC.
That’s what Dusk Golem, a well-known franchise insider, claims. One X user asked him how many DLCs are planned for Resident Evil Requiem, and he replied as shown below:
How many story DLCs is RE9 supposed to get?
I've only heard about one story DLC for Requiem & one story DLC for Veronica. Both are being made to be a few hours long up the alley of Separate Ways & Shadow of Rose however.
Dusk Golem repeated his earlier reports that Capcom plans large story DLC for Resident Evil games to make up for the lack of spin-offs like Revelations. Meanwhile, fans on Reddit are debating what the DLC for Resident Evil Veronica might look like. Ideas include a separate storyline for Albert Wesker or an extra story for Claire Redfield set between Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil Veronica.
As for the story DLC for Resident Evil Requiem, which Capcom has officially confirmed, writer Haris Orkin recently let slip it will focus on Spencer, one of Umbrella founders. That said, the developers haven’t officially shared any details yet.
Resident Evil Veronica is confirmed to release in 2027. The exact release date is unknown, but recent reports suggest it may have been pushed from spring to autumn.
