2K Officially Confirmed Mafia III Update for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC

The rumors and leaks have been confirmed, at least in part. 2K announced Mafia III, which recently celebrated its 10th anniversary, is now available on current-generation consoles—PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The PC version hasn’t been left out either—Hangar 13 has also prepared an update.

The consoles version has received a technical upgrade and now runs at 60 FPS; for those who own Mafia III: Definitive Edition on PS4 and Xbox One, the update will be free. As for the PC version, the developers have fixed a number of bugs, added frame rate limits (120, 144, 180, and 240 FPS), and improved lighting, shadows, draw distance, and more. To mark the occasion, the game is currently available with an 80% discount.

Lincoln Clay is still alive.

A new Mafia III update with 60 FPS gameplay and technical improvements is available NOW on Playstation 5 & Xbox Series X|S.

Initially, it was expected Mafia II Definitive Edition would receive a similar update, as leaked by an ESRB rating, but no official announcement has been made yet. Perhaps they are saving it for a later date, and it’s entirely possible it might be related to the development of a Mafia 2 remake build on Unreal Engine 5.

Mafia III: Definitive Edition is available on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and macOS.
