First Actor Involved in Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake Development Revealed

Following Control Resonant's release late last month, Remedy Entertainment is believed to have shifted into full-scale development on Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake, a project they are working on alongside Rockstar Games. Lots of details remain under wraps, but new info has surfaced regarding at least one actor involved in production.

According to the portfolio of Swedish actor Alec Toselli, the 32-year-old is taking part in motion capture for the remake. His specific role is unknown, but a "SUP" tag, short for supportive role, indicates he won't be playing Max Payne himself. The game will mark his debut in gaming, as his previous credits are limited to short films and TV work.

Swedish actor Alec Toselli listed Max Payne 1&2 Remake as one of his upcoming projects on his Filmmakers Europe profile.

His role is listed as “TBA – Motion Capture (SUP),” suggesting that he is involved in the game’s motion capture work.

Despite being announced back in 2022, essentially nothing's been officially shown for Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake, not even a short teaser. That comes down to Rockstar handling publishing and marketing duties, and with the studio fully focused on GTA 6's launch next month, the remake clearly isn't a priority right now. That could shift starting in December, though, with rumors suggesting a possible 2027 release.

Fans are also hoping Remedy's collaboration with Rockstar continues beyond Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake, with some suggesting the Finnish studio could be a good fit for an L.A. Noire sequel while Rockstar stays occupied with GTA 6, GTA Online, and everything else on its plate. That said, recent rumors have also pointed to Rockstar itself planning an L.A. Noire sequel for 2030.

As for Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake, the game is in development for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5, with the release date is currently unknown.
