Rumor: Yennefer May Return in The Witcher 4

Witcher fans may get to see Yennefer of Vengerberg again. According to Reddit user -FMAF, voice actress Denise Gough, who voiced the sorceress in the English version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, recently recorded new lines for the character, including scenes with Ciri.

According to the post's author, the actress shared this during a signing event, where she was autographing copies of Andrzej Sapkowski's short story collection The Last Wish for fans. It is unknown which project Gough recorded the new dialogue for. The most obvious option is the upcoming The Witcher 4, where Ciri will be the protagonist, and the actress recorded her lines in scenes with Ciri.

Yennefer's return would be a logical step for the series. The sorceress is Ciri's adoptive mother and one of the most important figures in her life, so her appearance in a story where Ciri takes the lead for the first time feels like a natural fit.

However, it's worth remembering that CD Projekt Red is currently working on an expansion for The Witcher 3 called Songs of the Past, which is set to release in 2027. Geralt will once again be the main character, so Yennefer's new lines could theoretically be meant for this project. The developers also recently explained why they decided to create a new DLC after so many years.

The Witcher 4 itself is expected to release around 2028. CD Projekt Red has already confirmed that Ciri will be the protagonist, while Geralt will play an important role in the story. It is also known that the choices players make in the game will have emotional consequences.
