Possible Details About Zoo in GTA 6 Revealed

GTA 6, Rockstar's upcoming release launching next month, is already known for a host of intriguing new features, a female protagonist, fully interactive in-game social media, a fuel system for vehicles, and more. The open world is also shaping up to be varied, offering players plenty to do.

As previously reported, GTA 6 will reportedly include a functioning zoo that players can actually visit. Reddit user RustyBrassballs drew a comparison to Zoo Miami, suggesting the in-game zoo could be impressively large, and even speculated on what role it might play in the story and side content. Map Discovery: The Zoo is looking to be much larger than we thought

Looking at the map of Zoo Miami, the C-shaped pool in the top left bears a striking resemblance to the C-shaped pool in Image 2. The pond on the right is the swan pond, and the large pedal boat lake was (logically) omitted. Originally, I thought the smaller cluster of trails (Image 2, bottom right) was the Zoo, but it now seems more likely that it is some sort of butterfly/botanical garden, with the parking lot bordering the Zoo’s south entrance.

I also included the zoomed-out map for scale, as well as the Miami Seaquarium map and its nearly one-to-one recreation in GTA 6.

This discovery reveals that the zoo will be totally enormous, nearly as big as the game’s large lake.

What are your gameplay predictions surrounding these locations? Here’s mine:

• I think a “Free Willy” mission is all but guaranteed. We saw an aquarium van in the Extended Look that said “We freed McKenzie from the Ocean” with a picture of an orca. This is a clear parody of Lolita, the real Orca who died due to neglect at the Seaquarium. A set-piece involving air-lifting her into the ocean seems somewhat likely.
• With such an apparently large zoo, and considering the time in which GTA 6 was developed, I’m anticipating some strong Tiger King influence. Possibly a mission where we steal a tiger from the zoo for a “Joe Exotic” type?

On the subject of wildlife, Game Informer's latest coverage this week put a lot of focus on animals specifically, confirming GTA 6 will feature more than 170 different species, 60 of them birds alone. According to the magazine, the animals also “display iridescence, bioluminescence, translucency, and feather types, plus new hair and fur systems for coats and pelts.” It's likely some animals at the zoo will even be unique to that location, not found elsewhere in the open world.

Even with Rockstar ramping up its GTA 6 marketing push, confirmed by the recently revealed Mature (17+) rating, leaks haven't let up. The latest one surfaced on 4chan, claiming to reveal key plot details, including a breakdown of the game's possible endings. As always with claims like this, it could easily be fake, since none of it has been officially confirmed.

Grand Theft Auto VI will release on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
