PEGI Revealed More Info on GTA 6’s Mature Rating

More details keep surfacing about GTA 6, the most anticipated game of 2026, launching next month. This time, the source was the PEGI website, which offered a closer look at just how violent the game gets and what else contributed to its explicit rating.

As is well known, this week Rockstar Games confirmed GTA 6 carries a Mature (17+) rating, a step up in violence from GTA V. It looks like more detailed content info leaked prematurely on the PEGI site, since that page has since been taken down. Meanwhile, Reddit users still managed to grab most of the key details beforehand, things like cocaine use, sexual content, violent scenes, and more, which you can check out below:

Detailed descriptions of GTA VI mature content published on PEGI before being taken down.

• Drug use is frequent and prominent with the player being able to partake in drug use with others and to use illegal drugs directly from their inventory.
• Most notably, cocaine can be carried around by the player and snorted directly from their hand at any time.
• There are also strong sexual themes, including nudity, scenes of intercourse and occasional scenes of sexual fetishes.
• In various night clubs the player can also pay for private dances, during which, the game allows the player to move their hands onto the dancers’ breasts and buttocks.
• This game contains frequent depictions of violence; due to the free roam nature of the game the player can harm all other characters inhabiting the environment.
• This includes civilians, criminals and the authorities. Violence is bloody with a high degree of realism, with certain weapons being able to cause greater damage such as detailed decapitation and dismemberment.
• Domestic animals are present in the environment, these can be harmed by the player, however this does not produce the same injury detail that can be generated towards human characters.
• Discriminatory language can be heard in the tv shows and on the radio channels.

Amid all the rating talk this week, the confirmation of full sex scenes drew particular attention, with PEGI backing that up too. Players are split on whether this means a full interactive mechanic or something closer to cutscenes, similar to what was hinted at in the game's second trailer.

In other news, French magazine Love also shared some new GTA 6 screenshots along with a few new details on Jason and Lucia. The Miami Heat have also announced a GTA 6 collaboration: on November 18, the day before launch, the team will face the Milwaukee Bucks wearing special game-themed uniforms, with the court itself getting a matching makeover for the occasion.

Grand Theft Auto VI will release on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
