Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe Is Likely to Release on Nintendo Switch 2

Ubisoft continues working on the next mainline Assassin's Creed entry, known as Codename Hexe. Plenty of details remain under wraps, but a new report hints at which platforms the game might launch on, and it should be good news for Nintendo owners.

According to a job listing for a 3D programmer at Ubisoft Montreal spotted on social media, candidates are expected to have experience developing for Nintendo Switch 2. That alone suggests Codename Hexe could be built for Switch 2 from the ground up, alongside PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, as you can check out below.

A new Ubisoft job listing may hint that Assassin’s Creed HEXE is headed to Switch 2.

The 3D programmer role for the HEXE project lists hands-on experience shipping games on PS5, Xbox Series, or Nintendo Switch 2. That doesn’t confirm a launch-day release, but it does make a Switch 2 version look more likely.

Last month, rumors suggested Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, a remake of the original 2013 game, released this summer, would also come to Switch 2, with a specific date even floated around. That hasn't materialized yet, but given that Assassin's Creed Shadows made the jump to Switch 2 after its initial launch, the same could easily happen here. You can also purchase Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced at 5% off on Eneba using the promo code EGW5.

Ubisoft itself has shared little on Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe so far. Insider reports suggest the developers aren't rushing with the game and are looking for a release sometime in the second half of next year or even later. Rumors also point to a massive open world with varied locations and protagonist Anika wielding an ability inspired by Jack the Ripper from the DLC of Assassin's Creed Syndicate, letting her intimidate enemies. Some claims also suggest the game will look visually stronger than both last year's Shadows and this year's Black Flag Resynced.
